What We Do

Volunteerism Through food assistance programs, we strive to meet the nourishment needs of Macon County, NC residents who are unable to provide for themselves due to crisis.  We show the love of Jesus to our clients, attend to their emotional and spiritual needs, help to preserve their dignity, and nurture their potential.  Our efforts are targeted at those for whom government or other forms of food assistance is not available.  With the support of churches, local agencies, businesses and individuals, we aspire to be a central location to better serve the needs of the community without duplication of services.

Interested in hosting your own fundraiser, to benefit CareNet? Please complete our Community Support Proposal and a member of the CareNet team will contact you within one week of receiving your form. On behalf of the Board of Directors, Staff, and Volunteers of CareNet – Thank you for your interest in supporting CareNet!

In addition to food, we provide for other basic needs on an emergency basis if funding is available. This limited funding comes from grants awarded to CareNet which are designated for specific purposes.  Some examples are utilities, fuel, prescriptions and rent.  No money is distributed to clients; vendors are paid directly.  All requests for financial assistance must be met through an appointment (Mondays and Thursdays).  For more information on What to Expect and What to Bring,  please visit the HOW WE HELP page.
